Jesse dies unremarkably — overworked, underpaid, face-down on a keyboard — and wakes before a pantheon of bored goddesses with a proposal he has no real power to refuse. Gaea-Femina is a world identical to his own in almost every way, except that three centuries ago a war-born curse wiped out every man who ever lived there. The women who remained rebuilt their world from grief and necessity, governing kingdoms, raising armies, and sustaining their bloodlines through increasingly unstable magical rituals. Now those rituals are failing. The world has thirty years left. Perhaps less. The solution, according to the goddesses, is Jesse.
