Chapter 1 by heykiza heykiza

<< if we walk another couple of hours I know a place where we could stay for the night >> Omar said, quite sure of himself, I looked up at him.

The rain hit rather severely but he stood almost all the time under it while his girlfriend and I went to sit at the corner of a wall, sheltered from the roof of the house that slightly protruded towards the sidewalk.

He was my best friend, I spent my childhood with him even though my bigoted parents were disappointed that I had an Arab child as a friend. Now we were adults, both with many years and more experience.

Being the only boy he took the reins of our trio, of which I had no objection to direct him. Surely it was more charismatic than I could be and then I knew little about his girlfriend, telling her what to do and how to move it did not seem to be the case.

I sighed delicately and I got up feeling the myriad of drops beating against the raincoat hood of the red k-way I was wearing, this was swollen on my back as it also covered the backpack I wore on my shoulders.

The other two also wore one, Omar black while his girlfriend, Linda, had one with a camouflage pattern.

<< probably we should go there, we still have a few hours of darkness >> I said nodding to the boy who answered me with a gesture of the head.

He started walking again, his feet were hurting and his legs were boiling, but then we walked almost all the time and it was so for three days.

In these three days we did not meet a living soul, all the empty houses and the deserted streets if not for some cars left in the middle, trying to get one was useless, every attempt failed because either the gasoline or the keys were missing.

All we had to do was walk, not having a precise destination, all I had to do was reach the mountains and I advised them and once I explained my reasons they listened to me.

Between us three there was the most total and religious silence, I walked behind them that stood side by side.

Only the sound of our footsteps and the rain in that country path divided in half by grass and full of pools a little everywhere, the landscape around it was composed only by changes in which grass at least forty centimeters grew.

The dark black sky shone several times and some thunders shook the ground with their power, although it moved in May the temperatures were really low but it was nice, feel the fresh air get inside k-wey and make me goosebumps .

After yet another thunder from a tree in the distance a flock of birds flew up and flew everywhere, I stood looking at them for a moment and then looked around.

Completely empty, only fields in sight even if the pouring rain made everything less visible.

Walking suddenly I noticed a huge shadow on the horizon, a farmhouse judging by the size and in fact what Omar said confirmed my thought.

keep walking
