Author's Note 2026

It's that time of year again, where I randomly log in Chyoa and realise that people are somehow still reading this story after more than ten years. Of course, given this story is over ten years old now, looking back at it there are a lot of bits I'm no longer happy with, and so on this return, I'm planning on running through a lot of it and editing and rewriting bits. Am I going to rewrite all 2,000 chapters? I very much doubt it, but I'm going to make a start and see where we get to, so I appologise if old chapters vanish and wind up being reposted in slightly different forms.

Being a demon was actually a pretty boring life. Despite having long ago left the mortal plane of exhistance there was still plenty of paper work for you to complete and tasks that needed to be tasked. While the Hellfire Dimensions, didn't tend to use physical currancy, there was still a need to 'earn your keep'.

And that is where our story begins. For centuries you had toiled away in the lowest levels of hell, all for this moment. rising slowly through the ranks, you now, at long last had the chance to return to the mortal realm. No, you weren't going to be reincarnated or anything as boring as that, life hadn't been great before you died, so that was the least of your desires. You were being sent to Earth on a vacation!

How does a demon take a vacation you may ask? By returning to Earth, and playing with the lives of mortals, causing as much mischief and menace as you can, and given that you had spent the past few centuries working in the second ring of hell, you had one speciality on your mind. Lust.

So it was that at 8AM on a Monday morning you found yourself floating as invisible ethereal matter above a small US town, ready to begin your rampage. The only rule to your vacation? Don't get caught. After all, belief becomes far less powerful if you suddenly revealed the truth of the afterlife.
