Your new life on Aeterna

Welcome to the world of Aeterna, the home world of the Aethini race. In the far future, humanity has expanded across the stars, meeting numerous alien races of varying intelligence and physical form. The Aethini are one such race. You are a member of this race, born onto this world in a status of your choosing. Yours is a world of late stage capitalism, exploitation of workers is the norm while high-society lives the good life. The streets of your almost entirely urbanised world are dirty, bright advertisement signs illuminate walkways and alleys, and you are never far from someone without a home or a job to fill their time with. But what are you? Well, for that let us turn to an excerpt from a xenobiology book written by a human scientist:

"The Aethini are a curious race of strong and adaptable humanoids. Their multitudes of skin tones range from blue to green to pink and everywhere in between, with their distinctive head crests being the other primary identifying feature that differs them from our own people. Males sport a short, stocky, firm creast of tentacle-like growths on their heads while females display a much longer, softer, almost jelly-like alternative. Their strength comes from their world having a stronger than average gravity in combination with good evolutionary genetics. Rather strangely, members of this species are known to be highly adaptable, their bodies capable of changing somewhat dramatically to better carry out whatever job they find themselves doing. This could be anything from gaining large quantities of muscle in a relatively short time frame, to a strengthening of the heart or lungs or even changes in biology to acquire webbed feet.

The Aethini are carnivorous, capable to consuming a wide variety of meats, some view them as somewhat barbaric in their consumption of raw flesh. Although they are capable of eating cooked meats the same as humans are, they derive pleasure in consuming their morsels raw with some even providing better nutrition for them in that state. The Aethini are however very fond of their own native wildlife, or what is farmed in the limited space available, and will do their utmost to prepare it with respect in a manner akin to the work of well respected human chefs. There are a number of Aethinian delicacies that are... best left to the natives, especially as their sourcing is certainly one of peculiar interest; potentially disturbing even for those of a particular proclivity.

Although this species has both a male and female sex, the separation between the two is not as simple as is with humans. All Aethini are born male, and in each male is capability to become a female up until a certain age. Therefore, all Aethini females were once male themselves and became female at one stage of their life.

When asked if it was appropriate for them to explain how this was possible, the explanation from an Aethini dignitary was quite detailed. I shall do my utmost to transcribe it accurately; Each Aethini male up until their early thirties has, alongside fully functioning male sex organs, within their body an organ akin to a uterus. This uterus has dormant ovaries attached to it and is connected through the body to the penis. In an act named 'The Contest', when roughly translated to Earth standard english, two males will engage in a sex act wherein one will emerge a victor. Both males attempt to penetrate the other's penis during a series of grappling to establish a dominant position. Then, through a complex series of chemical signals and biological reactions the dominant and submissive male are established. Once this has occured, the penis of the submissive male will relax and 'open' allowing the dominant male's member to enter. The speed at which this occurs is determined by the difference in dominance established between the males. At this stage, the submissive male must do his utmost to either recover his position or maintain his erection.

Should he succeed in this, the pair either continue until a victor is determined or call off 'The Contest'. Should he fail, the submissive male's penis will become completely flaccid, at which point the victor will push forward and the loser's penis up inside the body, allowing the dominant male to gain access to the dormant womb of the other. Once inside, the victorious male has a choice of either allowing the loser to keep his sex, or make him into a female by ejaculating into their uterus. Should he decide to be merciful, the loser's penis will gradually return to its previous state, although an amount of permanent damage is done from stretching around the penis of the other male. Should he decide to transform the loser, the male will release his semen into the now potential virgin female and the process of transformation into the opposite sex could begin. From this point, the victorious male will maintain his sex due to his own dormant womb being dissolved into the body.

The dignitary spared the details of the transformation process at my request, but within a week on Aeterna (approximately 6 Terran days) the virgin female will have completed her transformation and begin her life as an Aethini woman."
