Virtually Sound

Tobi sat in his room. It was his birthday, not that there was anyone to celebrate it with him. His parents had died 1 year ago. He had gotten the house at 17 and his Aunt was supposed to come live with him. Instead she had just written saying that he was on his own. She couldn't take seeing him after the of her sister. He didn't really blame her.

He had lived on his own for a year, getting a part time job and finishing school. The job was enough to get him food, but not much else. Then he graduated high school. He started working full time and actually had a little money left over. The only thing in the world he wanted was a new Sorby VR system. Saving every penny he could he was just short of the $1200 price tag. He had finally saved up enough when the letter came. He owed property taxes on the house. It wiped out all of his savings and he would have to start over. That was last week. Now it was his 18th birthday and he was all alone. He sat in his bed and cried.
