The Halls of Queen Mekada

The Halls of Queen Mekada

Becoming a plaything to the ancient queen of Ethiopia

Chapter 1 by Lustful Quill Lustful Quill

Adamas is a Greek merchant and adventurer. He has been roaming the seas for years trading anything valuable. His latest endeavours took place in Egypt. The rich land of the Nile gave him riches and knowledge, but his restless spirit drove him further to the South. Sailing against the current of the mighty river, he left Egypt behind him, entering the kingdom of Ethiopia.

The presence of the water put him at ease. It functioned as a secure path and a source of life in the otherwise deadly land of sand. Nevertheless, this was an entirely new realm for Adamas. It wasn't the dark complexity of the people that estranged him. He had seen several of them in the markets of Egypt. It was the sudden changing of the scenery. The Egyptian architecture was no longer to be seen. In its place, several bizzare stone structures, scattered across the vast hollowed land.

After a week of sailing, he finally exited the desert. The waters of the Nile led him closer to its source, into an exotic jungle. He didn't feel comfortable to leave the river just yet and venture into the jungle, but at some point his eyes gazed upon a city, entangled in the forest.

He found a place to dock his boat and went exploring. The city was filled with stone buildings, similar to the ones he spotted across the Nile. The horizon was dominated by a large structure made of marble and gold, that seemed to be a palace. That was when he knew he was at the Queen's capital. Adamas had heard of her while he was in Egypt. Queen Mekada was of rare beauty, powerful and wealthy beyond comparison. He realised he would have to report at her, if he was to carry on with his adventures in this new land. He approached the palace with confidence.
