The Cursed Board Game

Stories have been heard throughout the years of the cursed board game. It's origin was a mystery. Some believed it to have been crafted by witches and cursed. Others thought it had been conjured by a demon to test or break humans. Still others believed that it had simply always existed, and that there was no rhyme or reason to it.

The game is deceptively simple in appearance. A board with indiscriminate spaces and a flat, black stone in the center. A pair of ebony dice and 4 player tokens were the only accompanying parts. Players roll the dice, and the stone in the center reveals glowing words which detail a change or a challenge for the active player. There seems to be little rhyme or reason to the challenges revealed by each space, as landing on the same space twice can yield vastly different results.

What is common, however, is that most who play the game walk away vastly different than they were when they began. Some become physically altered beyond recognition, while others bare the mental scars from the experience. The only common link from play to play is that the winner of the game decides if the changes wrought by the game reset upon completion, or if they remain.

And so, we follow a group of individuals who have come into possession of this cursed game, and witness the chaos it brings upon them.
