Strange New Land

Your vision slowing goes in and out of focus, as you slip in and out of conscious. Overhead fluorescent lights rush by and the muffled voices of doctors and nurses fill your head, until your vision becomes completely black and the only sound you hear is the slow rhythm of your own heart monitor until it stops on one long tone.

You feel the sensation of floating as you’re surrounded by an utter black, silent void, it is around you, inside you, spanning endlessly. Then your feet feel a solid level surface. You plant your feet down and search around in the darkness. A soft light appears in front of you, a soft green crackling fire sits in a brazier in the center of a smooth cold stone floor.
