(This is my first story on this website, so I'd love to hear what everyone thinks! I'm also a newbie here, so if I'm committing a faux-pas or whatever, let me know :) )

The world this story is set in is not unlike our own, except for one big difference. About 10% of the population are Alphas or Omegas. Alphas are naturally more dominant and muscular and make great leaders. Omegas are naturally more submissive, and make great peacemakers and caretakers. Female Alphas and male Omegas are rare, but do exist and are considered to bring luck to their town.

The change occurs around the 21st birthday when people undergo a short fever, and it's called a second puberty, since various bodily changes happen to Alphas and Omegas. Male Alphas become a little taller, more muscular and their cocks become biger. Female Alphas also become taller and more muscular, and their clit can swell up to a mini-cock of two inches, allowing them to penetrate (and impregnate) an Omega in heat.

Female Omegas become curvier, their breasts growing two or three cup sizes while their hips become wider, all the easier to pop out the kids. The only real physical change in the male Omegas is that they grow a womb inside of them, so that a male or female Alpha can impregnate them during their heat.

You are Alex, recently graduated from high school and turned 18 a month ago. You decided to postpone going to college for a bit and work in your parents' hardware store for a year to save some money. Neither of your parents are Alphas or Omegas, and you don't think you will be one either.

In your small town there live about a thousand people, with fifty of them Alphas, and fifty Omegas. There are a few female Alphas, but your town has no male Omegas. They hold various important jobs. The mayor and the chief of the local police are Alphas, while your local doctor is an Omega and most of your primary school teachers were Omegas too.

But one day you wake up with a fever, even though otherwise you feel fine. Your mother insists you go and see the doctor, even though it's likely to be nothing.

Your doctor, however, runs a bloodtest and has you come to her office for the results that same evening.

"The reason I didn't wait until tomorrow morning is because your results were unusual, and I think you need to know about this as soon as possible," she told you. "Alex, you're about to undergo the change into an Alpha or Omega. I've consulted with colleages around the state, since you're very young to undergo the second puberty, but the results are clear. As usual, we can't predict whether you'll be an Alpha or an Omega." She gives you a comforting smile. "I guess we'll have to wait and see, huh?"

You nod, still dumbfounded. You try to remember your Biology classes from school, and what they had said about the change and being an Alpha or an Omega. "It's 24 to 48 hours after the fever starts, right?" you ask her.

She nods. "Yes, in a day or two the change will be complete. Now, since you are so young, I think it'll be closer to 24 hours than 48, but it's hard to be certain. I would like you to come in tomorrow morning, though, to do some more bloodtests. Since you are so young, I would like to monitor the change closely."

"Sure," you say, your mind conjuring up question after question. "Uhm, can I take some folders home to read?"

She gives you some folders and when you get home, you lock yourself in your room to read them. Your parents understood your need for a little privacy, and you could tell they were a little nervous too about your upcoming change.

In the folders, you read that after the fever, the next symptom will be a tingling in your genitalia. For men, a tingling in their cock means they will be an Alpha, and a tingling in their ass means they'll be an Omega. For women, a tingling sensation in their clit means they'll be an Alpha, and a tingling sensation in their breasts mean they'll be an Omega.
