Sanguine Rise
The thirst always wins...
Chapter 1
by Reaper12
Vampires, creatures of extraordinary beauty and strength, blood drinkers of fairy-tales and nightmares. Capable of not only literally tearing a person limb from limb but extremely hard to kill as well unless one knew how. Silver and wooden stakes being the best options. Garlic was just a bullcrap myth created by Hollywood. Contrary to popular belief, vampires could handle the sun just fine, instead of being lethal it only weakened them.
Another turn on the myth is that vampires were the living dead, again a falsity. Being spread via disease, not magic, vampires were a hundred percent alive. Even more so than humans, as a vampire all senses were radically enhanced. Giving them further credibility as what one would call an apex predator.
It is said that one bite is capable of infecting a person with vampirism, but more reliable accounts indicate it isn't just the bite itself that carries the disease. But all bodily fluids. But a bite would certainly do the job.
Above all else, vampires crave two things. Blood, and the propagation of their species. If physical pleasure can be gained in the act, all the better.
But there is nothing to be afraid of, these monsters aren't real. Just stories made up to explain the strange behavior of crazed or ill people. We need not fear the fictional.
Right?
As the people of Crimson City are about to discover, vampires are very real.
And thirsty for more than just blood.
