Power at a Price

You're only human. Just like everyone else, always have been, always will be. Or at least you thought so until one night while contemplating how boring your lot in life turned out to be, a flash of light **** you out of your stupor. A floating ball of light who's color was ever-shifting had a appeared in your room. It spoke in a voice that wasn't identifiable as male or female:

"Ah, good, you're alone. I'm here to finally give that which you've always wanted, to finally answer those incessant wishes and prayers of yours that always ask 'why must my life be so mundane?'"

You were just about to scream and call for help when you realized the voice wasn't actually audible, it seemed to be resounding from within your head. Which scared you even more into a shocked silence.

"Why does this always happen? You try and grant a mortal their wildest fantasies and all they can do is stand there a gape at you. Here try this."

A smaller green ball of light shoots out of the entity and hits you in the head, before you have time to think about what it might do, you realize you're not afraid anymore. And a second later the entities words catch up with you and you can't help but be giddy with excitement at what you could do with the power it will grant you.

"Woah tbere buddy, slow down, you're not geting some OP world-conquering power, and what you do get from me.... well its not exactly free"

"Lets establish some rules: you get to pick a power, any power or powers or upgrades to your person that you can think of. Doesn't even have to be a 'power' per se, it could just be a slight alteration to the world like 'world hunger no longer exists'. But you also have to come up with what you're willing to give away for this power"

"And theres no cheap way of getting out of this payment, souls aren't real so don't try that one. The price has to fit the gift. Say you want your power to be mind control, well thats a very powerful gift so the price will have to be something you value alot, could be all your childhood memories, could be the life of someone you genuinely love."

"Therefore I recommend you put some of your own limits on your powers, say, instead of mind control over anyone and everyone, you instead ask for mind control over only adult women with blonde hair and big tits, well that power is much more limited in scope and will only cost you something minor like your car or your apartment(yes I will take cash, remember the price is just something valuable to you, not to me)"

"Also keep in mind that selfish gifts will cost more. If you ask for a gift that helps people other than yourself it won't cost as much. Like my example of ending world hunger, it may be a massive gift in terms of scope, but odds are it's a nearly entirely selfless gift so it may only cost you the same as minor selfish gift"

"When you're ready to decide on your gift tell me what it is and what you're willing to pay for it and I will decide if it's a worthy price"
