Oak Prince

You've been travelling for days, twice as many as normal and it's starting to wear you down.

You and Xara. You turn to them and smile weakly "Just a little further Xara" You sigh and face the sun once more, Inglewood Village is near and finally, finally! You'll be able to sleep in a bed once more.

You hear Xara's voice ask you "What exactly do you plan on using that reward for?" They're sceptical, as always, and are probably expecting you to spend it on women and wine, which you can't say you weren't thinking about doing.

"A gift! For my sister" You tell your exhausted companion. "She's turning 11 in three days and I expect that if I buy it today, it'll be there for her party."

The thought of your family sends a pang of sadness through you. Your father sitting sleepily by the fireplace, your mother tending to the herd, your older brother cleaning frantically and Eledwen, your little sister.

"You don't talk much about your family" Xara says, their tone soft and piqued with curiosity.

"There isn't much to talk about" You tell them, they blink expectedly at you, hoping for an elaboration that you never give. The two of you continue on in a pretty comfortable silence...
