NUDE TV

There is a parallel universe where nudity and sex are commonplace. Nudity is legal everywhere. Many people walk around in various states of undress, ranging from fully clothed, to partially dressed, to mostly or entirely naked, except perhaps for a few accessories. Not only is nudity legal, but it is explicitly illegal to people to wear clothes against their will.

Still, in most places, exhibitionists only make up a small part of the population. Many people are still embarrassed to be publicly naked, or even to see other people naked. People’s attitudes toward public nudity range from begrudging tolerance, to acceptance, support, humor, or even admiration or envy. Some people secretly wish they could have the confidence to go naked. On the other hand, some people feel pressured into being naked, even if it makes them uncomfortable. They might go naked in order to fit in with their exhibitionist friends. Some workplaces have a dress code that requires some form of nudity. Some colleges have strict rules on what students are and are not allowed to wear. And so on.

With such a rich tapestry of nudity and sexuality in the real world, it is only to be expected that such diversity would be represented on television. In this world, you can turn on the TV and see full nudity on any channel. People are frequently naked or having sex not just in dramas, but also on sitcoms and daytime soap operas. You may see naked newscasters and sports commentators. There are naked talk shows, naked prank shows, naked cooking shows, naked science programs, and naked documentaries. Public access television stations show nude tai chi and painting shows that use nude bodies for a canvas. And of course, there is naked wrestling.

Not every show is like this. Some coincidentally feature no nudity whatsoever. These shows would seem perfectly ordinary to a viewer from our world. However, just as most people in this universe know at least one exhibitionist, it’s rare to find a show without at least one naked person on it.
