Mia and the Monster Men

Mia Marlowe was walking home from work. The twenty year old woman had a book in her hand, reading it intently and barely paying attention to her surroundings. She had walked through the long woods that seperated her home from the coffee shop she worked at many times and had only ever tripped once. Her black hair was cut in a short bob, held out of her face with a headband. She was reading a biography on H.P. Lovecraft, her favorite author, with her green eyes, only occasionally having to push up her glasses. Mia was a tall, lanky woman, with not much in the way of breasts, and pale skin and a pretty face.

As she continued forward, focusing completely on the book, she suddenly felt the ground give way, and before she could do anything, she started to fall through the ground. Down she fell a very long way, through a dark tunnel. Her book slipped out of her grip and was lost. Thinking quickly, she held her glasses to her face tightly, although she was unable to see anything. She closed her eyes and tried to remain calm, even though her heart was racing. As she fell, she felt her dress get caught on what must have been a root, and it tore completely off her, leaving her in her underwear.

After what seemed like forever, Mia hit the ground. She opened her eyes, and was outside, sitting on a tree stump in a place that didn't look at all like home. For one thing, the sky was a dark pink color, and she was in the middle of a clearing, surrounded by many other tree stumps. She took in her surroundings, and noticed that there seemed to be four directions she could go in.

To the north was the shore, it surprised her how close the beach was. To the east was a dark forest that reminded her of all the scary stories she had read her whole life. The west held a town, with tall walls that she was unable to see in. The south was covered in hills, and she couldn't see it very well either. She stood up and took in her options, choosing to not stay at the tree stump.
