Magic, Monsters, and Myth

In the modern times

Chapter 1 by Osclog Osclog

Everyone has heard of the supernaturals of old, Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, ect. Fighting with humans across the ages has costed them much, and humans breed like rabbits in comparison to them. And as such, had they learned that it is best to leave humans to their own, and so, in order to sink into myth, many sentient supernaturals banded together to work on a special project, one that would produce a realm referred to as "Geas", in which the more impossible to ignore monsters (Giants, Dragons, ect) would be relocated too, and to be a place where the supernatural races could hunt them so they could still have access via gateways to the most powerful of substances for arcane practices and bizarre religious practices.

Then everything went to shit.

A strange event called, "The Surge," happened. A massive wave of strange, unknown energy encompassed the world for only but a moment. But it was long enough for every gateway to combust from an overload of a volatile energy, leaving no way to get to the Geas. Not only that but the Surge resonated with the most magically powerful and oldest locations in the world for supernaturals, a lot of lore and powerful artifacts were lost. And unfortunately, one tragedy gave birth unto another. The humans saw as the supernaturals floundered around and took the chance to begin the Great Hunt. An event that saw many monster races extinct. The least amount of casualties were the ones who could pass as human, at least at a glance. Many a monsters turned on one another, selling humanity locations where others gathered and their weaknesses in exchange for their life. After the Great Hunt ended, many supernaturals gathered again but were rack with paranoia. It took time and recuperating to feel, relatively, safe again. And now they have reached modern nights, after having lost so much of their old power and history, they are all weakened, husks of what they used to be. Though they are FAR from helpless, as humanity has adapted, so to have they. Though all isn't well. They hardly trust each other, and some old hate runs deep, though that is the least of their worries, as secrets and past old enemies return from their graves.

Where to begin?
