Lost In Another World

A Journey Into The Unknown!

Chapter 1 by Tubzyphil123 Tubzyphil123

Akira is one of the most unimportant people you could imagine. He lives alone in a tiny apartment with barely any possessions to his name. No money, no family and a crappy dead end job with a boss who despises him. Akira himself doesn't even look extraordinary in any way. He has deep black hair, sunken, dead looking, blue eyes and he looks as wimpy as a child. The only thing he has going for him is his height, standing at exactly six foot. Everything else about Akira…is normal. He never felt normal though. He always felt like an outsider, looking in at a world that didn't want him. The only thing that brought him joy and made him feel like something, were his stories. Books of adventure and mystery were Akira's pride and joy. He would put himself in place of the main protagonists and get sucked into a world that didn't exist. He truly wished he could live in one of those fantasy worlds.

"You're worthless" A voice rang in the back of Akira's mind as he sat in his office cubicle at work, blocking out another rant about himself from his boss.

"You're lucky we can't afford to replace you"

"Trash"

"Nobody"

The world around Akira began to fade as he ignored his boss and started daydreaming about the story he had recently started reading. The world was filled with evil creatures, treasure and fine maidens. The women of his stories are most of the reason Akira got so sucked into them. He had never been touched by a women and dreamt of all the different fantasy creatures he could do the deed with. The main character of this new story was called Asaka, so it wasn't hard for Akira to replace that with his own name. He imagined himself in a mighty castle, being offered the princess' hand in marriage for saving the city once again. This is usually how Akira spent his time when he wasn't nose deep in a book. Daydreaming about worlds and women he could never reach.

"You're fired"

Akira's brought himself back to the real world after hearing these words.

"What?" he asked.

"I said, YOU...ARE...FIRED!" the boss responded while getting right in Akira's face. "I'm was trying to tell you that this was your last chance and off you went once again into dreamland, right in front of me, it's not acceptable and you're finished here"

Akira didn't know how to respond. This was the sixth job he had been fired from this year. Once again, he would be left with no money and no way to order himself more books. He didn't say a word to his now ex boss, he simply stood up, grabbed a few items off his desk and walked out the building.

Rain was pouring from the sky as he exited his work place. With no umbrella to cover himself, he held his jacket above his head and began the slow march home, the same route he took everyday. The sky was dark and even though the street lamps were lit, he could barely see where he was going.

Akira had been walking for around twenty minutes, now drenched from the rain. He had been daydreaming the entire walk until a car drove past and splashed water all over him. He stood there for a moment, a look of pure defeat on his face when a thought popped into his mind.

"Why am I still here?"

For the first time in his life, he stood there and actually considered the possibility of ending his life. Climbing to the top of the nearest building and throwing himself off. He wondered why he put up with a world that constantly beat him down. Why he had nobody that cared about him. Why he couldn't live in a world where his wildest dreams were a reality.

"Fin... m..."

Akira froze as a faint voice whispered in the back of his mind. Panic swept over him as we wondered if he was going insane.

"Find me"

The same voice again, only clearer this time, uttering the words "find me".

The street lamp above Akira began to flicker as a freezing cold wind hit his face.

"I truly am going insane" he thought to himself, still with a panicked expression on his face.

He quickly began to move down the street. Every time he passed under a street lamp it would begin to flicker while the ones behind him returned to normal.

"FIND ME"

The voice screamed in his mind. He began to sprint, to get home and away from this madness.

"AHHHH, get away from me" another voice yelled.

This time the voice was not in his head, but from down an alleyway just up ahead. Akira stopped sprinting as he reached the alleyway and peered around the corner. As his eyes adjusted to the dark, the first thing Akira saw, was the back of a huge muscular man. He was wearing a white tank top, had no hair on his head and was holding a knife in his right hand. Below him, a young women on the ground. Her shirt ripped open exposing her bra, tears pouring down her face as the massive man got closer and closer. Akira couldn't believe what he was seeing. This women was in serious trouble but what could he do to help? Should he even try to help? A million questions crossed his mind at once but he had to make a decision because the large man had just picked up the young women and was attempting to remove her skirt.

What Should Akira Do?
