Note: all characters are over the age of 18.
The King's Authority is a power that allows someone to control all women.
To use the ability, it's simple. Give the woman, also known as a "subject" a command, and they will do it.
Once the subject has been given a command, they will always do it. It doesn't matter what circumstances the command is given, whether they were in the middle of a more important activity, whether they were in public, or whether it breaks the law, if the King gives the subject a command, the subject will always prioritize the king's command over any other activity.
Once a command has been given, the only way for the action to be broken is for the king to override it. For example, if the King told their subject to "Jump up and down, and don't stop", the subject will jump up and down until the King gives a conflicting order. If the King never orders them to stop, they will do it for the rest of their life. This can be avoided if the task is given an end condition.
The subject will not believe they are being magically controlled; they will believe that they are following the commands of their own volition. They will never feel like they are "****" to do something against their will. The absolute worst that they can feel is annoyance, like if they were told to wash the dishes or do the laundry.
But what happens with a command that's impossible to complete under normal circumstances? Well, from prior history, one of three things can occur:
- If the command is unintelligible or paradoxical (i.e go forwards while staying still), the subject will not carry it out.
- If the command requires the cooperation of non-Subjects, the subjects will try as hard as possible, but are not guaranteed to succeed. They will continue trying until given a new command, however.
- If the command is deemed impossible to do and does not involve cooperation of non-subjects, the subject will be able to warp reality to carry out the command.
Non-subjects won't be obligated to carry out the King's command, but they understand the King's authority towards their subjects. As long as they are aware that "Subject A is doing X because the King told them to", they will recognize that the King's authority transcends any rule or law. As such, subjects and the King will typically be immune to any legal or institutional consequences. Non-subjects will recognize any use of the King's Authority as acceptable, but they may react accordingly. For instance, if the King commands a woman to suck off any man they come across, the woman's boyfriend won't be outraged at the woman or the King, but still may break up with her if he decides that he can't handle it. If the king commands a woman to always be naked, the public will understand the reason why, but they will still be able to stare at her.
Note: 1/8/26: I have slightly changed the rules of this story because I wasn't happy with them. People other than the Subject now fully accept the King's Authority and see it as a "okay, this is how things are now" attitude.
What world does this take place in?
Someone gains the ability to control the opposite gender.
