My name is Alex, I am in my mid thirties and I want to find love!

My best friend and her husband are so happy...... They recently got back from a holiday to the realm of the Olympian Gods with the greatest of news "So Alex we have some amazing news.... We just learnt that we are about to have an egg together!!"

"What?? Already.... I thought it would take a lot longer for you two to have small people together? I mean I told you it would take a lot longer to conceive, mingling human and harpy genetics wasn't the easiest of genes to join together for most people, heck even for first generations- should have taken longer for a third generation harpy like you Aeollo"

Let me back up a second to explain how Aeollo and I know each other..... In my day job I am a fertility and genetic research specialist.... yeah typical over achiever but when you grow up obsessed with mythology and genetics and get to see first hand what an amazing midwife is like in action fate sends you down a path to help people have families!

Back to how I know Aeolle, she was the youngest daughter of my first English teacher; yeah odd how that happened! For a friendship to sprout before we ever met! Her father taught me the entire verbal garden of greek storytelling- all the myths, legends and grimoire that a young boy could absorb! By the time I turned ten I could recall everything he taught me.... and in thanks for being an extraordinary student he introduced me to his youngest daughter a tiny little girl with the daintiest of copper coloured wings, brightly shinning tightly curled copper hair and the most intense green eyes. It was love at first sight for me but it was quickly discovered that love wasn't for us but the strongest most long living of friendships eternal best friends!

From that moment on Aeollo and I became the best friends in fact she is your favourite Aunty or becomes your favourite Aunty and the sister I never get.

So back to then- I get up and congratulate my friend and her husband yep your Uncle Anders on this massively amazing news coming both as a friend and a doctor- yep I am her fertility specialist and the one who will be there to see their egg hatch- my passion for mythology blossomed into me becoming the top specialist in the Southern Hemisphere in regards to helping the mingling and hybridisation of humans and our non human or enhanced co-inhabitants! ( Writers note- can someone contribute an easier name for those who aren't human! you will be credited in each chapter for usage of your term- thanks ESCA)

"We think it happened when we visited the Olympus Realm... something about being in the midst of my ancestral realm made it happen... well made it all click together" Aeolle said beaming with joy and cradling her faintly defined mid section.... so a quick description of Aeollo when she was in her 20th year- you remember daughter that harpy's age a lot slower than humans and other non humans- so she is a sleek merging of swan and elegant swimmer with the grace and poise of a goddess... must be her status as a grand daughter of Aphrodite and a swan... it was a different time and reality.....throw in bright coppery coloured hair and feathers, piercing green eyes and the tanned surfer babe frame and height of her humanity your aunt was lusted over by many but won by one your uncle!

"So around of drinks for you both!" I said revelling in another successful application of my talents.... talents I wished so much to apply in my own life and meet the love of my life- "So why did you want to meet here? I mean other than your impending becoming parents in seven months?"

"Well Alex we want you to meet someone....." Anders said with a wicked grin on his face, pearly whites shinning amidst the burnished bronze of his fresh tan.... "My friend from work has been single for a long time ever since her engagement ended.... she is an amazing woman who runs, swims and has a black belt in Hap Ki Do..... speaks five languages and collects body mods like you collect pieces of insect containing amber!"

"In fact she is about to walk through the door..... are you ready to put your best foot forward Alex?"
