The differences between our world and this one are enough to garner a more intensive look. Up until the 1500s the world progressed as ours; the great pyramids were built and the same empires rose to greatness only to see themselves fall into obscurity. Around 1513, however, is were things began to change.

A mysterious disease began spreading through the land with speed the likes no normal disease had ever mustered. Highly contagious they only symptoms were a light fever, coughing and a mild rash. This plague swept through the world and soon all were infected. Eventually the disease passed and everyone carried on with their lives, however, more and more children were being born with abnormalities.

Soon the humans of this Earth grew into what they are today. Biologically similar the main differences were expressed with the arising of two new genders; hermaphrodites (who currently prefer the term futa, short for futanari, a word borrowed from the japanese), who physically resemble women but with the addition of male sexual organs, and the gynodites (more commonly refereed to as bois), biologically male a gyno is incredibly feminine in appearance and attitude. The male populace took a hit and being born male is a rarity but also a blessing and a curse.

Secondary effects of this disease were; an increase in intelligence in all sexes which lead to many cultures developing more advanced technology at an earlier time, an increased lifespan, immunity to many serious diseases including most STDs and an overhaul of the digestive track, humans no longer defecate under normal circumstances instead most of the useless material that is ingested is expelled through urination or sweating.

Historians would later refer to this widespread disease as "Horizon".
