Finding You Again

Eddie Michaels slowly opened his eyes as the bright ray of the sun shining through the gap between his windowsill and into his brown eyes. He gently rubbed his eyes and with his eyes half-open, he moved his hand around the area of his bed as he searched for his watch. He found the watch near the top left hand side of his head. He squinted his eyes to see that it was already 2.36 pm. Eddie gave a slight moan of “not-another-day-again” and closed his eyes back. Thanks to the sun’s shining ray through his eyelids, Eddie was not able to continue his slumber.

The 19-year old Eddie Michaels is on his winter break, as he has just completed his first semester of college. Eddie and his friends are enjoying their time off after a very draining, long semester while waiting for their final results to be announced. Even though it was the holidays, it was unlike the young man to wake up late in the afternoons. Up until two weeks before this day, Eddie Michaels was just another happy young teenager whom was enjoying and living his life to the fullest, but then disaster struck as his world was turned upside down when his then love-of-his-life dumped him.

He continued to close his eyes, not to try to sleep, but to ponder on his life of pain. She was the love of his life. He would die for her. He would give her everything and anything her little heart desires, but she left me. She left him to die when he’d invested everything into her. That pretty much sums up Eddie Michaels life. “Story of my life!” he often bemoans. Ever since dumped by her, Eddie often wakes up late in the afternoon, wasting more than half the day sleeping. “No one to wake up to,” he rationalized. Eddie Michaels turned into a mess after he was dumped by Natalie Daniels.

The young man then suddenly realized something; he was supposed to meet up with two of his closest friends (whom are also Natalie’s best friends), Rebekah McManus and Eyla Kelso at Rebekah’s house at 3pm. They had insisted to meet him, as they were worried with Eddie’s current state. Eddie sighed dramatically. He really didn’t want to get out of the comfort of his bed. He just wanted to stay under covers for the rest of the day, or better yet, the rest of his life. But the girls are expecting him.
