Dressing Up

You and your girlfriend Emily were invited to a Halloween party on this big estate on the edge of town: a hundred acres of varied wilderness surrounding a large public facility for guests and conferences and an old historic mansion.

"A special Halloween party like none other," the invitation boasted. "Come dressed for fun in your best costumes and enjoy the Octavia Winters Memorial Library and Conference Center, or brave the historic Winters Mansion for a reenactment of occult specialist Octavia's most secretive and powerful ritual on the 100-year anniversary of her --which is sure to change your life! Adults only: no guests under 18, please."

It normally isn't the sort of thing either of you would go to, but it was hosted by Emily's college and her friends insisted she go. You, of course, are just grateful to have plans for that evening, though a little apprehensive about having to hang out with all of Emily's unfamiliar friends, plus about a hundred strangers, all while wearing a costume that you're sure will make you look like a dork. Nevertheless, you go.

Of course, getting the costumes put together and the directions straightened out means that you're running late. You have to rush to get the the party and don't have time to change into your costume. You just throw it in a duffle bag and go! When you arrive, you rush out of the car and through the foyer of the Conference Center. You find a single-occupancy restroom and hurry inside, locking the door behind you while you change as quickly as possible, so as not to disappoint your girlfriend.
