Dr. Toy-Man vs the JLA. Will he Win his Price. Lois Lane?

Toy-Man has grown up and wants to play with Woman, so he starts a new Game

Chapter 1 by Colleem Colleem

"Come on, you crazy bastard. Finally grow up. Act like an adult and find yourself a girlfriend. Or a friend! Shit! A rubber doll for all I care, as long as you stop getting on my nerves! Heaven. Finally let yourself get laid you child and deal like an grown-up" Lois shouted and joined.

The Toy-Man kneeled in front of the camera and made a loud, whimpering noise. Only seconds later Superman and Supergirl broke through the wall to save Lois. Both were amazed when they saw the picture in front of them as the Toy-Man lay whimpering on the floor.

"Oh have you finally arrived?! What do I need you for if I have to save myself anyway?" Lois asked in a bad mood and walked out the door.

"Is she always like that?" Supergirl asked in amazement and Superman laughed amused while picking up Toy-Man.

"Only when she's in a really bad mood. I think this time he's gone too far."

As usual, the Toy Man landed in his cell and was charged for his crimes. Two years later a mass outbreak led to over 80% of the prisoners escaping. Since the primary aim of the outbreak was to free Lex Luthor, the rest of the prisoners only took the chance, the first thing they concentrated on were the criminals who used their new freedom to commit crimes. However, dozens of criminals managed to disappear from the scene. Since the Toy-Man was more of a harassment than a threat, the priority to catch him was quite low. Almost all superheroes were about to catch the most dangerous in the world again. Even after another 2 years most of the big ones were still at liberty. As the world gradually returned to normality, people were busy with their normal activities again.

However, everything changed in a single moment.

The news went around the world at a furious pace. Everywhere one could see the cover photo of the Daily Planet taken by a photographer named Jimmy Olsen, who was only known locally until then. It had happened before that the superheroes had to kill lives to save many others, but that one of them had cold-bloodedly killed someone who had surrendered and posed no danger at all had never happened before. The fact that it was also one of the leadership council of the league only made it worse.

The photo clearly showed how the flash beat the heart out of the chest of a bank robber he had just overpowered with a fist.

The scene of a world-famous superhero killing a man destroyed much of his reputation. Almost immediately, all the voices that had long believed the superheroes had too much power came up again. Within the governments there were discussions about how to deal with this situation without openly breaking it up. Some so-called experts argued that most of the superheroes were human despite all their powers. Only a few exceptions were aliens or of such strange origin that their brains were not subject to the rules of a human being.

It was unanimously agreed that the pressure the heroes suffered in their activities would cause them to collapse at some point. People had probably always assumed that the superheroes could withstand pressure across all boundaries. However, nations like the United States or Germany had experience dealing with post-traumatic stress. Many soldiers had gone through similar missions and they had not always realized immediately how difficult these situations were for them. But that the superhumans themselves suffered from such problems they had never considered before.

That the leading members of the league themselves advocated that better control should be introduced renewed a little confidence. Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman agreed that under certain circumstances the members of the league could be examined by an independent psychologist. The United States government was largely responsible that neither the League nor the United States government would employ this psychologist, but that an independent expert, recognized by all sides, should take over the job. Finally, the choice fell on Doctor.

Superman himself was the first patient with him and after Wonder Woman and Green Lantern were also with the doctor and had not reported any suspicious or unusual behaviour on their space station, some of the heroes volunteered. While other heroes had no interest in it, most were aware that some were gnawing at them.

Superman had, however, made it clear that he would not order anyone to come to the doctor. Nobody would be disadvantaged if he did not accept the offer. Even Flash had visited a psychologist after the incident who had diagnosed him with a nervous breakdown.

The photos of Superman and Senator Dickens standing together on stage and announcing the new law were a reassuring moment and Superman's speech was described by many as one of his best. In this speech he apologized for what had happened and that he would try to regain people's trust. He also explained that Flash had not been under the influence of a or mind control and that he would apologize on behalf of Flash as well. He also made it clear that the superheroes would not be above the law and would not be executioners.

Senator Dickens, the person in charge of the initiative, had put his political weight into this campaign and had emerged as a radiant winner from the political intrigue. He proudly stood next to the man of steel and stood before the press after him. He told the press that for security reasons neither the name of the doctor nor the location of the practice would become known. One of the conditions on which the league had unequivocally insisted and which had been in no way negotiable. He also told the press that in the case of Flash, no charges would be brought in view of his exploits. Also one of the points that had been negotiated behind closed doors with the league.

After the world press had been informed of the latest developments, the meeting slowly disbanded and Doctor Yot smilingly turned off the TV and leaned back in his chair. He had worked on this plan for 3 years and made the preparations in the background.

"Doctor Queene. I think even this game has started" grinned the Toy-Man broadly. To his left, Harley Quinn leaned over his desk and grinned broadly. Without the typical makeup and her clothes she was hardly recognizable. Thick horn-rimmed glasses and clothing appropriate for a psychologist only obscured her physique more. So far her camouflage had worked perfectly.

Since the Toy-Man had almost always been on his way with a big doll mask in his time as a criminal, only few knew his face. The fact that he had grown older, had a new hair color and worked hard on his physique he was not recognizable either.

"It's about time. This waiting still makes me totally insane! And why didn't we act already when Superman, Wonder Woman and this other crazy guy was here? They would have been great toys Mister T!" she asked impatiently and sat down on the table with his legs apart. Bored, she played with her pony and sighed excessively.

"This is all part of the game my love. It's like chess. You can't win this game on your first move. Why do you think they sent their strongest and most powerful heroes," grinned the Toy-Man broadly and watched Harley grumpy chewing on the temple of her glasses and shrugging her shoulders. "To test us, of course. Surely Superman controlled the whole room with his cheater eyes! He always cheats! He never plays fair! That's why I always lost! Because he cheats! But this time I expected it! No, no, no! Besides, I am sure that the third guy, who was a thought-reading Martian, read diligently in our thoughts!

"WHAT? Harley asked horrified about how calmly Mr. T. said that. "But then they know everything?"

"They don't know anything! I made sure that both of us didn't know what we were going to do during these visits! That's where the headaches we both had last week came from, by the way."

"So you have changed my mind? But you promised never to do that again!"

"I know. But that was my opening move. And so it was necessary! And you know that we had to survive this first step so that our game would be fun and long!

Laughing and in a good mood he stood up and swirled around while dancing to an imaginary music.

"Lois Lane! You said I should grow up! Soon you will realize that I followed your advice! And soon you will be the queen your king must protect! But he has already lost! For MY queen will seduce your king and then no one will help you," he laughed and drew Harley to himself. "Aren't we, my beautiful Harley? You'll always help me, won't you?"

"But of course, Mr. T. After all, you programmed me that way, didn't you? But don't forget! You promised me Batman! I want him," she grinned before kissing her new boss. While the behavior of Harley seemed natural, on closer inspection one could see that Harley did not react completely normal. Her winking was jerky and mechanical. A clear result of the brainwashing she had received. Without that she was completely useless for the Toy-Man. Fortunately for him the Joker was once again locked in a stretching bandage in Arkham and so he had been able to get to Harley without having to deal with this wannabe clown.

He had now opened the game and there was no turning back. But his plan could only work if he kept the bat out of the game long enough. However, he was almost disappointed by his opponents. He had given so many clues. His name itself had already been a clue. Such a simple anagram and so far nobody had noticed it. And then this windy politician. He had been so easy to manipulate. And then there had been Batman who had insisted on special security measures.

All rules which he had set up only played into the hands of the Toy-Man.

Nobody was allowed to know where the practice would be.

The treatment room itself was massively shielded so that one could find out from the outside nothing of the inside.

The doctor's identity was a strict secret.

No one would keep a record of what superhero he would be with.

Wayne-Tech had installed some of the world's most advanced anti-espionage equipment in his office to ensure that no one could intercept the office itself.

The only thing Toy-Man cared about was the fact that his fake background would not stand up to the scrutiny of the greatest detective in the world. On the other hand, he wouldn't be here if Batman had found anything in his resume he wouldn't have liked. Batman was probably the biggest danger for his game. He didn't follow any rules and saw through all his great tactics.

But now it was too late. He had put everything he had into this plan. Everything what had made him out was united in this game. If he would win this game then he would finally be happy. If he would lose it then he would have lost everything.

"Lois Lane! Queen," he grinned happily as he turned to Harley and looked at the enchanting doctor and grinned. "What do you mean, my dear doctor? Shall we begin the game now? Who is your next patient?

Harley bobbed back and forth on her feet and smiled at him. "At 13:00 I have an appointment with Barbara Gordon. That will be dangerous. She knows me very well! I don't know if my disguise will be enough to fool her. We've dealt with each other before."

"Mhm. Is it worth the risk?

"I think so. She's supposed to be an expert on computers. My Puddin hurt her so badly that she was paraplegic. She was able to overcome the injuries but I think the emotional trauma is deep. She was, by the way, the first to take the opportunity to be treated by us."

"Well then. If you manage to fool her then it will work. Wait a minute. What's her name as a superhero?"

"Bat-girl!"
