Dirty weekend

An anniversary holiday with a difference

Chapter 1 by chutney chutney

It wasn't often the two of us were alone these days, with kids around most of the time. As the children were growing older they were staying up later and we had less and less time to ourselves. So we were grateful that we could drop the kids with some friends for the weekend and head off together to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

I was never good at keeping secrets from Kirsty and she enjoyed surprising me, so usually she arranged this kind of trip. I didn't know much about where we were going except that we would be staying in a hotel miles away from the nearest town or city, and that Kirsty had told me there was a "special surprise" waiting for us. She had told me that the food was reputed to be very good, three meals a day were included in our stay, and the hotel had some "special activities" for us.

I just hoped there would be some time for us to have sex. I wouldn't say Kirsty was frigid but life was so hectic that sex didn't often enter into her thought process. If I was lucky we'd manage it maybe twice a month during the spring and summer months. During autumn and winter she just wasn't interested at all. It had taken several frustrating years for me to spot this pattern, which I now accepted as part of life.

I was driving, while Kirsty kept an eye on the sat-nav on her phone. It was dark and we were driving along unfamiliar country lanes, lined either side by thick forest. It was with much relief that we saw lights up ahead and she said "this is it, we're here!"

We drove through an ornate gateway with a lodge next to it, and along a sweeping driveway through immaculate parkland. The hotel was a large country house with a modern extension, presumably to add some more rooms for people to stay in. I got our suitcase out of the car and we ventured inside.
