Date night

It was lukewarm summer night when Jared stood before the house of Alex.

He heard a dog bark in the distance. The streets were empty and most of the windows were dark. It was a poor area, and you could see that by the houses. The crime rate was quite high, so Jared felt a bit nervous, but that was more due to the fact that he was standing in front of the house, of his childhood friend.

The whole day he played basketball with his friends until dawn. He wore a pair of shorts and a shirt with some skater boy on it. Jared did never cared what he wore, he was a natural good looking guy and some baggy clothes didn’t hurt this fact. Girls liked it.

Even tho he was attractive and had good humor, he never slept with a woman, he never even kissed one. He was a loser on the love side. He knew that very well, but made everything to hide the fact.

But back to Alex; Jared knew Alex since childhood. They were best friends in elementary school. It helped that Alex was a tomboy, and he could do funny shit together without worrying if it was Lady like. In highschool their ways crossed, die to Alex drifting in the cringy anime, nerd direction. Jared stayed in the „normal“ route and played sports with his friends, doing some and hanging up with girls (not that Jared had any success). Jared’s mother still had a good relationship with Alex mother.

Yesterday he was just chilling, like always when his mother told him, she organized a playdate. Despite Jared's whining, she stayed hard and insisted on it. Jared didn’t wanted to have anything to do with Alex but he couldn’t fight back. Now he stood there.
