A religious cult, unhappy with what it sees as mankinds moral decline, develops and releases a virus designed to supress peoples more primal and sinful urges. Released in the worlds busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta Georgia, the virus mutates instantly and is spread across the globe before anyone even realises. The mutation causes the virus to erode cognitive thought and reasoning while hyper stimulating the primal instincts it was designed to supress, causing the infected to slowly become amoral sociopaths before developing a brain fever that drives them insane before killing them. Approximately 48 hours after initial infection the victim dies from brain fever and 30 minutes later they rise as an undead zombie known as Ravagers, that are singularly driven to spread the virus within it at any cost. Despite losing its airborne potency after 72 hrs and only able to be transmitted through bodily fluid exchange, the virus kills over 4 billion world wide in the first 7 days. Governments across the world collapse as nations descend into chaos and anarchy.
