The lights are low in the Sigma Epsilon Tau frat house, but the energy crackling through the room could light the whole campus. The couches have been pushed back, the beer pong tables cleared, and a stage has been thrown together at the far end of the hall—just a riser, some cheap lights, and a big projection screen still showing a swirling “SET” logo on standby. You’re seated front and center with the others: a mix of frat brothers, a couple of alums, and one professor whose presence makes the air feel twice as serious.

Most of the guys here are only a year or two older than you. You recognize some from the house, others only by name or rumor. You’re the youngest, yeah—but not by much. And tonight, that might actually matter. You were told to come dressed sharp, to bring nerve, and not to ask questions. Whatever’s about to happen, it isn’t just another hazing stunt or brotherhood bonding ritual. There’s a buzz in the room—this is something else. Something bigger.

You glance around, trying to read the faces. Everyone seems to know just a little more than you do—but nobody’s talking. Not yet.

The screen blinks on, then displays a logo: "College Spread". A single spotlight snaps on, bathing the stage in pale gold as a figure steps forward into its glow. You recognize him immediately—Rhett Caldwell, fraternity president, legacy member, and walking rumor mill. He’s in a sharp navy jacket with the Sigma Epsilon Tau crest embroidered over his heart, and he carries himself like he owns the building. Hell, maybe he does.

He doesn't speak right away. Just lets the silence stretch, a slow grin crawling across his face as he scans the room like a general surveying his handpicked troops.

"Gentlemen," he says at last, voice smooth as bourbon. "And Cassie."

There’s a light ripple of laughter—only one woman is here, standing off to the side with arms crossed and a look of determination in her eyes. Rhett nods to her, then looks back to the rest of you.

"Welcome... to College Spread. The ultimate game of Poker."

The word Poker hits like a flicked match. Heads turn. Brows lift. A few of the older guys shift in their seats, grinning like they’ve been waiting to hear those words again. You still don’t know exactly what you’ve signed up for—but whatever this is, it’s not going to be about chips and cards alone.

Rhett spreads his arms like he’s unveiling a masterpiece.

“Here’s how it works, gentlemen. Every week, you’ll pick one of our lovely Ladies from the College Spread deck. You’ll assign her a challenge. Then you’ll have seven days to make it happen—with her consent, of course.”

He starts pacing the stage, slow and deliberate.

“You earn points based on how bold your challenge was and how desirable the girl you pulled. Stack your points. Build your hands. Just like poker.”

He stops, leans into the mic.

“Except in this game… the stakes are flesh, not chips. And if you fail? You don’t just lose the round—you risk everything. Every month, someone gets eliminated. Their girls, their plans, their shot? Gone.”

A long beat.

“This is College Spread. The ultimate game of poker. Played with women, wagers, and willpower.”

He grins.

“Let the game begin.”

You glance down at the tablet you'd been given when you agreed to join in this game. It currently shows the College Spread logo, just like the screen behind you, but as Rhett continues it changes.
