Class trip to Pleasure Island

Class trip to Pleasure Island

A somewhat different (and changing) class trip

Chapter 1 by Pingu Pingu

"This has to be a mixup," the middle-aged man, who introduced himself as Mr. Brown, said and looked at Jack, who stood behind the reception of Pleasure Island Resort. "We were supposed to be booked in a hotel on the mainland, so we can see all the historical sites."

There were some annoyed noises from the larger group behind him. Jack looked past Mr. Brown and mustered the group of approximately thirty young adults. Mr. Brown had explained to him that they were a school class on a study trip. Jack once more checked the list to confirm all of them were overage. Some just recently had turned eighteen but in the end, they were all adults. There were only a handful of guys, most of the group were girls ranging from model material to grey mice. Jack smirked. They were all material to work with, including the two female teachers also accompanying them.

"I can understand that, Sir," he then explained to Mr. Brown. "I am sure this issue can be sorted out. Pleasure Island Resort will be happy to accommodate you and your students until then. It just will take a few moments to sort out rooms."

"This ... this should be a study trip. Are there any historic sites on this island? Or do we always have to take the ferry back? I thought the ferry would just take us down the river back to the mainland."

"I am sorry, Sir," Jack had to tell the teacher. "The ferry service is quite irregular and only on Wednesday/Saturday and Sunday, as those are days our guests arrive."

"Oh my god, so we're stuck here."

"I understand your position, Sir, but there are definitely worse places to be stuck. But might I suggest we sort your group into rooms and when everyone has relaxed a bit, we sort out what happened with your booking?"

Mr. Brown just nodded, slightly defeated. It took a while to sort everything out, the students clearly have their preferences about who to stay with who in a room and Mr. Brown and the other two teachers made clear that mixed rooms were not acceptable. Jack just had to grin, as there would be a lot of mixing for sure ahead for everyone in the group.

Finally, everything was sorted and while the group headed for their rooms, Jack went to the back office to call everyone on staff to inform them about their new guests.

Whose story to follow for the moment?
