Chy, the App

Chy, the App

I Give You Some Context, You Spawn Your Ideas

Chapter 1 by MattBach MattBach

This is going to be an unusual story. It is spawning an open world of filthy ideas. This story does not contain protagonists. Thus the people in the story are part of your spawned ideas.

Instead the heart of the story is an app. The app is called Chy. It's a dating app, but a rather special one. After the first regular attempts on the dating topic - the company behind Chy has created a very good matching algorithm among other not so unique features - the results were average or below average. The dating app market is huge in the meantime. So it was clear that they had to invent something special.

So the team came up with three things:

First, there was a technical feature they called Proximity. This was a very precise indicator in the app about who was close. If you entered a room, you could see who else was there and you could see how far away they were. They could make it more precise than GPS and it even worked in moving targets like trains. The engineers and psychologists in the company also combined it with their algorithm so you could see how well the other person in the room would fit to you. Of course there was also a stealth mode, so you could simply turn off to be tracked.

The second thing they invented was not a technical feature at all. It was a new trend, a marketing coup. They called it Flash. A flash was a quick sexual interaction. This could be a spontaneous kiss in public, a grab in the subway or another meet and greet of the special kind. The length and depth of such an exchange was up to the participants. Through the app, people could arrange a date and use the lightning emoji ⚡ī¸ to indicate the idea and the consent. I see your brain working already, don't I? Yes. Of course this worked very well with the Proximity feature and quite some spontaneous stimulations were happening every day when you were into such things.

The third invention was made by the same team. They called it Live Flash. It was a hand sign. As Proximity was really good, it was not meant to locate the precise person in a crowded scene for example. The discreet hand sign was the solution. You outstretched your index and middle finger together and form a letter "J" together with the thumb. The marketeers said, it would look like a half flash, but the app users quickly reinterpreted it as the J in joy. People who don't know wouldn't notice. But all people who used the app knew this sign and could use it as a shortcut now for immediate consent or as the start of a conversation.

... and this is the setting now. I myself could imagine dozens of flash stories spawning off of this and will probably contribute one or the other idea. But I'm also curious of what you will come up with.

I think as a last note, it's worth mentioning that the setting propagates an open sex world. So the topic of consent and No means No becomes important here. And of course I don't have to mention the rules of this platform, right?

What could the users possibly do with the Chy app?
