Bunraku: Initial Phase
In the year 2023, nano-machine technology is on the rise. A globally expanding shadow company begins producing mind reprogramming and body modification chips that could deconstruct, travel through air and reconstruct itself anywhere inside the human body.

You awake from your sleep with a jolt. Your body was sweating profusely, a dull stabbing pain played drums on the back of your head. Your muscles were horribly aching, a strange twisting and kneading sensation coursing through every fiber of your being. It felt like sickness, a really bad one, but it was too painful for you to move or even make a sound, until suddenly, everything clicked into place. As the aches mysteriously disappear, there was a moment of clarity, your expression softening to placidity, calm and serene. All the stress and fatigue you may have experienced until now seemed to just bleed away, leaving you energized, light footed and alert. You blink a few times, words that only you can see beginning to pour across your vision. A heavily distorted voice reads every word out loud inside your head:
"Agent.
As of 0600 today, you have been activated for the purpose of full participation in Operation Bunraku. Refer to the dossier planted inside your desk. Inside will contain your master control key. Squeeze the key in your right palm. The nano machines will absorb and attach to your preinstalled personal augmentation network. Once attached, find the four MK I neural reprogramming chips and four MK III body modification chips inside the small secure container on the underside of the dossier, and absorb them too.
To deploy them, designate a target through your retinal augmentation and be within clear line of sight to lock on. They have been calibrated to be slaved to your master control key and you will be able to perform remote operations once they have attached to your target's brain and/or muscle tissue. As development is still in their prototype phase, you will not have direct control, but you can modify any mental, psychological or physical parameters with their mind and body as you see fit. Your instructions then are to perform whatever experiments you see fitting and report back the results on a weekly basis via this secure wireless link along with any and all observational data recorded.
Do not concern yourself with moral or social limitations or appropriateness, for they will only limit your imaginations and the overall quality of the field research data.
