Brand new World

(This is my first story on this site, please leave feedback so I know what you like and dislike)

A throbbing headache, this was the first thing the people in the town square felt after waking up, quickly followed by confusion as they opened their eyes to look around and realize that they are no longer where they last remembered they were.

It took a few minutes before one of them looked up at the sky to see a figure floating up there, but no matter how hard he looked all they could see was a blurry figure that seems to be constantly changing. All he could tell was that the figure seemed to be watching him and the people around him as they tried to get on their feet.

As they finally all manage to get up they hear a voice, neither male nor female from high above their heads "Hello everyone, I know you all must be scared but there is no need to be, or rather being scared is of no use to you if you want to survive. You all have been chosen to become the Beta-Testers for this new and improved world."

The people standing below him only stared with blank expressions unable to truly understand what he was saying. But the figure simply continued talking, just causing more confusion with every word. "So I should probably introduce myself first, I am the god of this world, just call me that when you need something."

"Now it must be obvious that this is not your world anymore right?" The figure waved a hand making the people down below look around to see a town looking a lot like towns back in the middle ages, and to their surprise they even noticed a few people with long pointed ears, closely resembling elves from stories in their world.

"First I want you all to check your back pockets there you will find a card with not only your stats but also your future role. Your role has been determined by your personality and interests, there are a few ways to change roles, but for now you are stuck as whatever was determined by the laws of this world" A bit of murmuring resounded from the crowd as everyone looked at the cards in their pockets.

"Furthermore the cards back has a button to start a description for what your role can do. I will activate that function after I tell you about this world." The figure adds adds as he notices everyone start to push the button. "So as you may see your basic stats are Strength, Vitality, Intelligence, Wisdom and Speed. A few of you might be lucky enough to start out with an additional stat but that is rare. To increase your stats you will need to act in accordance to your role."

"All of you will also learn how to use your card to store objects and to learn new abilities, very useful right? I think that is enough for now." The figure stops speaking for a moment seemingly wanting to disappear "Oh I almost forgot to mention this, outside of the villages live dangerous creatures so be careful unless you have a battle ready class"

The figure completely vanishes after these words while a bright light showers all the people in the town square as they hear a soft-spoken voice telling them "You have received your beginner gear, say 'open inventory' to open your inventory"
