Beyond the Stars

The arrival

Chapter 1 by Storm Chyld Storm Chyld

Hurtling through the vastness of space, a fleet of meteors made their way into the sol system, with an unintended and inevitable destination. Slipping past the moon, they continued on their warpath toward the giant blue marble known as earth. In moments they would rain hell fire down on a small unsuspecting town, and change the world forever.

Martha Kane was standing in a small shop staring into a mirror. She ran a hand through her long red hair, and stared at her face. Even though she was forty she often passed as younger, and even young men drooled over her. Her breasts were large and firm, her stomach smooth and toned, her legs long and sexy, her ass round and delectable. She smiled softly admiring the way the simple black dress clung to her sexy body.

Her smile faded as she thought about the man who use to hold her. Her husband, her high school sweetheart, had died five years ago, and she had struggled with the loss ever since. Though she was at peace, with the loss, she could never bring herself to date again. As a virile woman, that wasn't easy, because it wasn't like her desires and needs just went away.

With a sigh, she grabbed her groceries and headed for her large red truck. She had to get back to the farm, as there was always something to do. The farm, which had been in her husbands family for generations, wasn't doing well, due to the loss of her husband, and Martha having to shoulder the burden alone.

Driving down the highway, she heard a strange whistling sound, and then a meteor hit the field near her, causing an explosive shock way, that nearly sent her careening off the road. Breathing hard, she righted the truck, and hit the gas, tying to get away from the falling rocks. Several more explosions occurred in her vicinity, causing her to hyperventilate, on the edge of panic.

Suddenly one of the meteors hit right behind her back left wheel, and sent her truck flying through the air. The old truck didn't have an airbag, or shoulder belt, so her head shot forward and slammed into the steering wheel. Her world went black, as the truck landed with a thunderous crash.

Martha's eyes fluttered open, blood slipping down her forehead from a nasty gash. She was upside down, facing the road, she had just been on. Disoriented and out of breath she vaguely noted a small flame slipping toward her truck. Reaching up she fumbled with her seat belt, trying to get it to release.

Though her ears were ringing, she heard something and glanced through her driver side window. Stumbling through a trench made by one of the meteors, was a person in a black flight suit. The suit looked, odd, but she couldn't place why. The helmet covered their face, and it was somewhat baggy, leaving their form devoid of features.

The person reached out to her, and her eyes widened as the door was enveloped in blue energy and then ripped form its hings; floating toward the person. Flicking their hand, they sent the door flying out of view. Fumbling with her belt, she finally hit the release and shot toward the ceiling of her truck. Just as she was about to hit her head, she came to a stop, and began to float out of the vehicle.

The aviator pulled her close, and gently embraced her, though their stance, said they were leaning on her, as much as she on them. The beautiful redhead's breath began to slow, as he found herself feeling calm and safe in their arms. Glancing up at the person, she gently reached up to remove their helmet.
