Anthro troubles

You're sitting on the coatch bus staring out the dirty window, the same way you have for hours. The complicated history of the Lupa federation has resulted in very distant borders from the neighboring human countries huge swaths of land between them exist as a sort of no mans land or dmz between them and this 8 hour bus ride from the nearest airport is the fastest way across the border.

Your mother was unusual for living in a human nation, you've seen beast people before but mostly on tv they are uncommon in normal human civilization almost always some sort of professional visiting from Lupa. You were always so curious about them, probably since you never really met your mother their always felt like a huge gap in your identity that maybe could be filled by knowing something about her people. So when you learned about a special bursary and acceptance program at one of Lupa's most prestigious universities you leapt at the opportunity.

You dad is a nice enough guy but very bad at communicating always closing down when you wanted to know about your mom. She didn't leave you with much to work with either one of the few artifacts she left you was a photo of her and your dad. The photo you've been looking at intermittently between long sessions watching the landscape out the window.
