Almeracian Fly

A mechanical door hissed open as a man spoke over the whirl of motors, his tone jovial as he waved his arm out to show off the large complex he was guiding two women with throughout the entire structure. Superman; the man of steel had invited Power girl and Wonder Woman to get a look at the completely refurbished and expanded fortress of solitude after the stint with Brainiac last week. So far the two women were very much impressed with the layout of the massive structure, and could not help but remark that the interior had a very homely esthetic as they passed by potted plants and benches like they were walking down a pathway in a park.

"And here we have the menagerie, this took the most work to dig out and redesign since I wanted to have larger areas for the animals to thrive in."

"It's very lovely Clark." Said Diana, admiring the taller, larger area for the alien zoo all around her, even Power Girl was impressed when she crouched down to bend at the knees and wring her hands to the sight of a flock of green coloured duck-like creatures at a pond. "This must have been quite the endeavor."

"I've had some free time since the attack. Plus I've been meaning to make renovations for some time now."

"Yeah, living in an ice cave in the North Pole, at least you haven't set up shop with a bunch of elves and started giving out toys to children." giggled Karen, getting back to her feet to admire the layout of the fortress. "Or have you been doing that?"

"Not recently..." Shrugged Superman with a smirk, leading the two further into the fortress until they both came back around to the main halls of the complex. One that was tall and designed with exquisite architecture, with the statues of his mother and father holding up old Krypton in their shared hands. "So that concludes the tour."

"It's lovely Clark, I'm jealous." Smiled Karen, resting a hand on his shoulder. "I can barely get my company in order, yet you find what? An hour or two and manage to rebuild this place from the ground up?"

"AND improved! The door is made of solid diamond and the lock can only be opened with a key forged out of dwarf star matter. Only we can lift it, let alone use it to enter the fortress of Solitude."

With his hands at his sides, Clark looked about the great hall of the fortress and nodded. "This place is impregnable."

A burst of air and a tear in space behind the man, alerted the three to the arrival of a stranger, stepping through the portal and closing it behind her with her chin high and her hands at her sides in a grandiose pose.

"Aha! So, HERE is where I find my FUTURE husband!"

Raising an eyebrow, Diana turned to Superman who looked back to the two sheepishly.

"Future husband?"

"She's tried to propose to me in the past, multiple times... Even while I'm already married to Lois. She's quite persistent."

"And she keeps trying?" Seeing her cousin shrug back, Power Girl frowned back at the red haired princess, looking back at her with a smug grin. "Hey stalker lady, here on Earth, no means no!"

"Bah! When the future queen of Almerac makes a decision, she commits to it." The black and white clad warrior woman declared with a pointed finger back at the man in blue. In her other hand, she held up a vial. "With THIS I shall cement our union together, and you will return with me back to my kingdom to sit by my side."

"What is that?"

Smiling back at the man, Maxima showed off what was revealed to be a bottle of perfume. "Amongst the rulers of my people, when met with... Rebuttal. The answer was this most treasured tonic from our treasury. Both a powerful aphrodisiac and fertility supplement, THIS ensured not only would there be an ever lasting matrimony but a fruitful one at that. All I need is a single spray of this, and you will be my most loyal lap dog of a husband."

"So... Spanish fly?"

Shaking her head, Diana was disgusted.

"You are right, she IS quite persistent."

"Stand aside you undeserving whores, he is MINE!"

"The hell did you call me?!" Scoffed Power Girl, already charging towards Maxima at full speed. Protecting the vial, Maxima held it up high where Karen struggled to reach it.

"Let GOOOOOOOO, he's mine!"

"You honestly think I WANT him?" Shook Power Girl's head in disgust.

Quickly, we need to detain her." Declared Diana, joining Karen in trying to disarm Maxima of the potion. Superman quickly joined in as the four struggled with the bottle, trying to get it out of her grip.

"Stop fighting this, he was always meant to be with me!"

"He's spoken for princess, learn to take a hint."

"NEVER!!!!!!!!"

At that moment, in her haste and anger, Maxima's grip on the potion grew too great, and the bottle burst apart, spilling its contents on all four of them. There was a scent in the air, something like wild flowers that consumed everything they could smell as they each backed away and tried to wipe the fluid off of them. The second they each locked eyes with each other... Something clicked.
