Aliens: the lost strain

<3rd pov> [A/N: This chapter is the only chapter with the 3rd pov after this it's 1st pov]

Earth interstellar colony ship DVL-FUKR666 landed on planet EDN-798 AKA Etherion. Etherion is a planet that closely resembles earth almost completely save for it being bigger and with 3 moons and orbiting a violet sun alongside the obviously different ecology of the planet. Within landing the colony ship spent a year using it's onboard resources to built a settlement for the 500 colonists to live in and after a year of work it was done and then started the process of waking up the colonists from stasis.

But sadly not everything runs smoothly as roughly midway through the trip passing through a nebula very briefly caused 97.8% of the stasis pods to malfunction causing the precious cargo to literally die sleeping. All but one male colonist and 10 women, all security personnel who also have training in civilians fields of experience, survived the trip as it was only their pods that didn't malfunction. So out of 500 colonists only 11 survived the trip.

The male colonist was an assistant researcher who volunteered to study the new planet took a transport shuttle up to the orbital research station that was sent ahead of the colony ship and using the comms system he was able to get in contact with his employers the weyland-yutani company only to find out that the onboard AI of the colony ship informed them of what happened and labeled the colony a lost cause before abruptly cutting communication.

After having the research station land near the colony the researcher informed the rest of the surviving colonists and through unanimous vote they decided to eak out a living in the new colony to the best of their abilities.

Unbenounced to the colonists the last member of a long thought extinct inhabit of the planet awakens from it's slumber.
