Aethyros
Echoes of Desire
Darkness surrounds you—soft, weightless, endless.
You don’t remember how you arrived here.
You don’t remember anything at all.
You move slowly, arms outstretched, expecting to touch a wall, a door, a body—anything.
But there is nothing.
Only empty space.
Whispers rise around you.
Hundreds of voices speaking at once, overlapping like a crowd murmuring behind a closed door.
You can’t understand a single word, but you feel their attention pressing against your skin.
A sudden flash of light blinds you.
When your vision clears, you’re no longer alone.
You’re staring at yourself.
A perfect reflection stands before you—same face, same body, same expression.
But the reflection doesn’t move when you do.
It watches you with a strange, knowing calm.
The voices fall silent.
Then, in perfect unison, they speak:
“Who are you?”
The mirror brightens.
Your reflection begins to shift, waiting for your answer.
