A Pirate's Tale

[Many thanks to Gunde for taking his time and helping me edit my threads. English is not my first language, so a lot of my threads contain grammatical errors. It's still a work in progress. I will try my best to edit them out.]

It's the year 2150, I ain't gonna bore you with the details of how mankind developed FTL and how they came into contact with aliens, they just did.

Mr.Anderson Cole was always frustrated when he was repairing the ship's drive core. It was an extremely outdated piece of technology and its a miracle that they had just escaped the kjillian slavers.

"Captain, this is Cole. The drive core is beyond repair, I can make it get us to the nearest space port, after that it's toast. Unless we get a new one, we are out of business", with that Cole switches of his comm device and returns to work.

Captain Samantha Lawson was in her in cabin studying what went wrong with the previous mission, when Cole's transmission broke her chain of thoughts.

"Great", she utters in her breath, "just another problem to complicate my life" as she stands in front of her mirror, she sees...
