A Human Alien
Accidentally sent across the galaxy.
Chapter 1
by Jpyric
The discovery was a shock. Life on another planet. Not just life, but intelligent life, and seemingly more advanced than our own! Naturally, efforts were immediately begun to contact this far-flung civilization, but the distance was simply too great. All that we were able to discern was the similarity to humans; humanoid form, similar planet, but far advanced technology.
Then one day, a breakthrough that changed everything. A team of scientists developed a theoretical way to create a temporary wormhole on earth, making it possible to send a group through to make contact. It was a nearly impossible task, and it took nearly a decade to produce a prototype wormhole generator.
A team was assembled, ten men and ten women. Soldiers, scientists, engineers, a diverse group that could expect to be separated from earth for an extended period of time. They prepared for another year before it was finally time.
However, upon activating the generator, disaster strikes. Instead of creating a wormhole between worlds, the machine explodes, throwing technicians and the team alike off their feet. When the smoke clears, everyone looks around, and finds that there is one person missing. The wormhole worked.
Sort of.
The person missing is alone, stranded, with no way to return. There’s no chance a rescue can be attempted for years, even if the machine can be made to work again. Their only hope is to make contact with these aliens, and hope that they are friendly…
Author’s note; Feel free to add your own chapters to this! I tried to leave it rather open ended. Also, if you want to talk about this/share ideas/make requests, I have a discord I’ve been using for my other story: https://discord.gg/eQhUAJqYhq
