Mike groans as he sits up. Rubbing his eyes, he looks around. He blinks and rubs his eyes again. Nope, he wasn’t crazy, he’s not in the facility anymore. Instead, he’s in a grove of trees, somewhere he doesn’t recognize.

Looking around, he climbs to his feet. It seems quiet here, wherever here is. Not knowing what else to do, he walks towards the edge of the grove, hoping to get his bearings. As he walks, he notices that the trees look strange, not like the trees he knows. Soon, it dawns on him.

He went through the wormhole.

Looking around, he feels a rising panic. He went through the wormhole, and he’s on a planet, an alien planet. He has no way home. He’s lost, alone, and if he’s honest with himself, a bit terrified.

Taking a deep breath, he tries to stay calm. “Just keep walking.” He talks to himself as he makes his way to the edge of the woods. At least it seems safe here.

Looking around, he can see something in the distance. Something that looks like a cluster of buildings. If nothing else, it’s a destination. A goal. Maybe shelter, at the least.
