HAPPY 18TH, CREAM

It's the big day, and all of Sonic's friends are celebrating! What big day? Cream's birthday, of course.

Sonic's friends are all gathered at Cream's house. Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Johnny Lightfoot; even Sally Acorn is there, despite having to call in for a break on the news station. Cream's mother Vanilla rolled out the vanilla-and-cream-cheese birthday cake (clever, eh?), Cream and the guests gathered around the Sega Eternity to battle it out in Pratfall Masterz, and many festivities were had by all.

Just as Sonic and the rest were considering whether to go back home or sleep over, a familiar face appears on the television screen! It's Dr. Robotnik, and he's surrounded by a gleaming wall of fire!
Amy gasped. "But I thought he was-"
"Dead as a doornail. This is probably just some prankster using old footage to freak people out." replied Sonic.
To everyone's surprise, the TV actually responded to what Sonic said!
"Did you really think you could keep me down forever?" growled the man on-screen. "You've got what's coming to you and more, you vile hedgehog!"
Tails scrambled to justify this. "W-well, I'm sure he's said-"
"Oh, and I'd like to wish your little rabbit friend a VERY happy eighteenth birthday, and I hope she wins at, er... Platform Blasters, was it? Oh, well. It doesn't matter anyway, since this birthday will be your last..."

The team stood in silence for a moment before Tails spoke up. "Prankster or not, clearly someone is stalking us. We should go investigate it, just in case."
"But what if we're walking right into his trap?" Amy asked.
Sonic said "Then we'll walk right out!", though with a twinge of uncertainty.
