What do they find when they get there?

Somethings not right

As they a pulled up to the park, Velma began to feel uneasy. She wasn't sure why, but it was there. The place certainly looked deserted. The the main entrance was sealed off by a series of storm gates. This was further secured by a series of interlocked, heavy chains.

"It doesn't look like we're getting in there anytime soon Fred," Daphne said doubtfully.

"If we were going in that way, Daph, you'd be absolutely right," he replied and grinned. He then began walking towards a small building attached to the ticket window.

"According to members of the old cleaning staff that I spoke with, there is a staff entrance through the security office and they still have someone from security working here." As he finished speaking he knocked on the door that featured a large decal of a private security company.

"Mystery Ink," he called, "we want to have a look around." After receiving no answer, he knocked a few more times and called out again. After his fourth attempt, he shrugged and tried the door. It opened with a creak. From behind Fred, the rest of the gang could see that the interior of the office was dark.

"That's weird," said Fred, stepping back outside. "They're supposed to be someone here at all times."

"Like, maybe he's on a lunch break?" said Shaggy, trying not to sound scared.

"I figured he would at least lock the door," Said Fred, beginning to sound cautious.

For her part, Velma's anxiety was cranking up. "I don't like this Fred," she said, her eyes sweeping across the abandoned Park. "Maybe we should come back tomorrow during the day? Get the sheriff to let us in.?

"Now come on Velma," Fred said good naturedly. "Don't tell me you're getting worried about ghost now? I would expect that from Shag and Scoob, but you're the most logical person I know. And last time I checked, there's a mystery that needs solving."

Velma sighed in frustration and replied "Yeah, but are we supposed to just wander into this abandoned park? No idea of the layout, no power, and no sign of a security guard to at least show us around?"

"Maybe he's over there?" said Daphne, pointing between the bars of the large fence that surrounded the park. The others gathered around her and followed the direction of her pointing. Sure enough, there was a light illuminating a small building right in the middle of the park.

"Good job Daphne," Fred said before turning back to the security office. "You guys coming," he said before disappearing into the building.

Velma and Daphne looked at each other doubtfully before following him.

"I think Scoob and I will just stay here in case the security guy comes back," Shaggy said, trying to keep the shaking out of his voice.

"That's fine," Daphne responded while grinning at Velma. "It's awfully brave of you guys to wait out here by yourselves."

"Zoinks!" Shaggy exclaimed before he and Scooby follow behind them.

They walked through the dark amusement park for the next several minutes in silence. It was set up pretty much the way Velma thought it would. A lot of generic and poorly built and maintained rides, shuttered food and game booths, all covered in pictures and logos of copyright free cartoon characters.

They finally caught sight of the light as they walked around the bumper cars. It was coming from a little yellow bulb hanging above the door to what appeared to be a supply shed.

There was still no sign of the security guard, but they were all surprised to see a large black van pulled up next to the building. As they approached, that uneasy feeling begin to settle over Velma again. She had walked through dozens of supposed haunted houses, farms, factories, lighthouses, and many other spooky locations, and she had always felt a little nervous, but rarely had she experienced what she would almost describe as a sense of dread.

She almost found her voice in time to tell Fred to not look in the window of the shed. Her fears were confirmed when she saw his body stiffen at what he was looking at.

"What is it Freddy?" Daphne asked.

"Shhh," was his terse reply as he quickly turned around. "We need to get out of here," he said quietly. The rest of the gang looked at him in confusion before Velma stepped past him and decided to take a look for herself.

"Velma, wait," Fred said in a shaky voice. His usual confidence and bravado was completely gone. As she looked in the window, Velma could see why.

The security guard was definitely not in the building. Instead, what she saw were half a dozen large men standing around a table covered in bricks of what appeared to be white powder.

"Oh shit," Velma said quietly before backing away. "Fred's right," she said turning back around, "we need to get out of here now."

Daphne still wore a cconfused look on her face but she saw that, true to form, Shaggy and Scooby we're already backing up the way they had come. She was just about to grab Daphne and Fred by the arms and drag them that way as well when she heard a voice.

"Don't fucking move!" This was followed by the clear and unmistakable sound of a shotgun being racked.

What happens to the gang?
