Someone wakes him up

A few hours have passed and the sun has long since set. John is fast asleep when someone taps him on the shoulder. Dazed from sleep, he slowly opens his eyes and looks at the person who tapped him on the shoulder. The image is dazed at first, but after a few blinks, he can see the person in front of him. It's Link and he's wearing his Gerudo outfit.

John: *Thoughts* Why does he have to look so cute?!

Link looks at him apologetically, he must have felt bad for waking him up.

John: Yawn... Can I help you?

Link gets out his Sheikah Slate and walks over it before turning it over so John can read what's written on it.

John: "Sorry to wake you up, but I just wanted to ask if you're alright, it's quite cold here in the desert at night." Excuse my curiosity, but can't you talk?

Link shakes his hand in a way of saying he's right, but also not at the same time.

John: You do not want to talk?

Link gives him a thumbs up and nods. John smiles and starts using sign language.

John: Do you understand sign language?

Link appears to be smiling beneath his veil as he also uses sign language.

Link: Yes! It's nice to meet someone who can do sign language, it's rare.

John: Anyway, let's get back to your question, yes it's quite cold.

Link: Has your gear been stolen?

John: No... Let's put it this way... I was sent on this journey quite abruptly. I didn't have time to pack any gear.

Link looks at him with sympathy.

Link: If you want we can share my tent, I have enough space and I don't want you to get sick because of the cold air.

John smiles upon hearing this.

John: For real? That would be great, thanks.

Link: No problem, but you have to help me set up the tent, Mysterious Stranger.

John: I haven't introduced myself yet, sorry. I'm John, nice to meet you.

Link: I am Link. Come help me set up the tent.

The two start setting up the tent, it takes a few minutes, but with the two of them there really aren't many problems. After a while they both climb into the tent and close the opening behind them. Link looks at John in embarrassment as he scratches his cheek with a finger.

Link: Unfortunately I only have one blanket...

John shrugs and lies down so his back is to Link.

John: I don't need one, you use the blanket yourself. I am grateful that you let me sleep in your tent. Good night.

Link: Night.

He also lies down and covers himself, waiting a few minutes to make sure John is asleep when he moves a little closer and covers him with the blanket as well. He smiles and lies back to back against John.
