Chapter 4 by mizuryu mizuryu

What happens with Match Number 3?

Well, she doesn't have any more credits to bet with...

The first round of Match 3 doesn't really concern her too much, she's **** to fold and stand on a 13 and so obviously loses the first round.

The second round isn't much better, but Ahsoka is able to squeak through with a draw.

The third round is where the act that would affect all of their fates would take place.

The first cards are drawn, 4 for Hardcase, 6 for Rex, 8 for Vaughn, 7 for Jesse, 9 for Kix, and 10 for Ahsoka. She's set up well to win this round, but then Kix puts down a +1 and raises 3 Credits.

Ahsoka doesn't have the credits to call, but with having drawn a 10, she's not exactly eager to just give it up, so, mind racing, trying frantically to think of what else she could do, her eyes drift down to her bracer gloves. She pauses for a second as she considers the pros and cons, and finally, just as Kix says, "Look Commander, if you don't have the credits-" she lays it out.

"How much would you consider my bracers worth?" The silence filled the room with confusion, before Jesse spoke up, "Uh, how do you mean Commander?"

"I mean, I'm out of credits, but I don't want to fold this round, so I'm offering my bracers as my bet instead. If you guys agree, I'll go ahead and take them off and put them on the table."

Years later, Kix wouldn't be able to explain what pushed him to say the following, but he's glad he did. "Let's call it 3 Credits a bracer, Commander. Go ahead and slap one on the table, and we'll see how far it takes you."

Setting down her cards for a second, Ahsoka has her bracers, both of them, off in a flash. "No reason to keep the other one on for now, and I'll have it handy if I want to do a bigger bet later."

The game continues, but the focus of the clones is...off.

Ahsoka is completely oblivious to this as she manages to eke a win out of Round 3 and completely dominate Round 4, but the clones' eyes are drawn to her hands and wrists. Skin of her body that they've never seen before. There's a weird curiosity among them now as to what else she might bet, as well as an odd feeling that none of them have any experience with.

It doesn't feel bad, just weird...

Do the clones follow this odd feeling?
