Marik had already arrived here first with his loyal follower Odion. Marik would pose as "Namu", while Odion played "Marik Ishtar".

Soon after, Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, Bakura, and Mai Valentine arrived. There was only one slot left.

When the last candidate appeared, Marik couldn't help but be surprised. That person was Ishizu Ishtar, his older sister.

After eight finalists gathered, a bingo machine modeled after the "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" was used to determine the matchups.

The first match was Yugi VS Bakura. Marik helped Bakura, but in the end, he was still defeated by "Slifer the Sky Dragon". Marik didn't think much about it, because he believed that the Egyptian God was invincible.

The first match was Ishizu VS Odion. Being a servant of the Tomb Keepers clan, Odion couldn't fight against his master, so he surrendered. That outed his disguise because the real Marik was a servant to no one.

In the third match, Marik played as himself. His opponent was Mai Valentine
