Chapter 6
by Moshi
Does Brian experience more surprises in the elevator?
Of course he does
Before the elevator reaches the lobby Brian feels it jerk to a stop.
"Oh great! Now the elevator is stuck..."
No sooner as he states this than the elevator opens its door. The opened door reveals a dark hallway, which Brian assumes is the second floor.
"Guess I can just take the stairs, it's probably safer anyways."
He exits the elevator, quickly realizing that the dark hallway offers no light except that from the elevator itself. A growing feeling of foreboding fills his thoughts. Suddenly the lights in the hallway start to flicker to life.
"Why is everything so damn creepy today?!"
Brian proceeds through the hallway, noting that the elevator closed its door. As he walks towards the end, his thoughts begin to race as he feels more and more uneasy. This feeling is met with a flicker of light and a sudden gust of wind!
"What the hell was that?!"
The flicker of the lights caused him to flinch, looking around he notices that the hallway is now dark and cloudy, completely different from when he exited the elevator. Too stunned by the trick that his mind must be playing Brian stops in his tracks, looking around he tries to gather where he is or rather what just happened. His vision falls to the end of the hallway where he sees a strange cloudy mass, focusing more on the area he realizes that the mass is more than a cloud. It is a ball with what looks like tendrils expanding from the center. What's more, is that these tendrils seem to be holding something...Brian's adrenaline begins to spike as he finally sees what is being held by the cloudy mass, it's Aya! The tendrils attached to the mass are wrapped around Aya, seemingly forcing themselves down her throat....and other places.
"Aya!"
Brian shouts without thinking, alerting not only Aya but the cloudy mass as well. Aya's eyes widen at the sight of Brian, she begins shaking her head seemingly trying to deter Brian from coming closer. The mass reacts by creating more tendrils that completely wrap around Aya, obscuring her from Brian's view. Throwing caution into the wind Brian rushes the mass only to feel the ghostly sting of a tendril smacking his chest when gets within 10 feet of the thing. Wincing from the pain Brian quickly gets to his feet, looking at the mass he sees some tendrils pumping in and out of the cluster that envelopes Aya. His emotions and adrenaline running on max Brian enters a state of reaction. He holds out his hands and releases an invisible pulse that shoots out, hitting the mass at its body. The pulse sends the mass into a writhing fury, releasing its hold on Aya it flees to the nearby stairway. Brian takes this chance and runs to Aya.
"Aya are you ok?! What was that thing?!"
A weakened Aya lays on the ground unable to move, she stares up at Brian with tears building in her eyes.
Aya: "Idiot...that thing could have...killed you."
"I couldn't leave you with that thing! Let's get out of here before it comes back."
Brian reaches down to pick up Aya, only to have her disappear as he touches her. The sudden shock of her disappearance is met with the shock of feeling her presence enter his body. The familiar comforting feeling returned to Brian.
Aya: "And now I'm back inside of you...all of my efforts ruined."
"I-I'm sorry, I just wanted to help..."
Aya: "...I'm sorry, thank you Brian. That thing caught me off guard, I was too distracted after having separated from you."
"It's fine, I would rather have you stuck with me than with whatever that thing was."
Brian can feel Aya heat up after he said this. The feeling was mutual...and awkward to say the least. He could feel himself getting turned on as he thought about Aya and the event he just witnessed.
Cough* " Let's uhh, get somewhere safe. I need to figure out what the hell is going on."
Aya: "...Yeah, sounds good. I'll leave that up to you, I need to rest a bit..."
Does Brian go back to his room, or to the lobby
