Chapter 5
by Moshi
A most unusual morning
Strange visions
Brian awakens with the sun shining through the window. After adjusting to the blinding rays, he shifts his vision around the room verifying his current location.
"Aya? Are you still around?"
He is met with only silence...and emptiness. Brian can only assume that Aya found a way out of his body. A sound assumption due to the lack of her presence.
"What a dream that was...I kind of wish that she was alive. We could have had a great relationship probably...I guess that I can only dream about it now."
Brian starts to get ready for what now seems like a normal boring day at the resort, an odd feeling indeed since the resort was nothing short of exciting not too long ago. He notes a slight feeling of emptiness that now looms over his mind, the result of losing Aya's presence.
"I kind of miss Aya, I guess that I should have enjoyed the time a bit more. Not much I can do about it now....I need to get moving and find a distraction!"
Brian quickly gets ready for the day ahead, eventually leaving his room. As he makes his way to the elevator he passes an older guy in the hallway. He notices the guy limping as he walks, but for some reason, Brian can't register the man's face. He does register that there is a need to sidestep around the old man as it seems the guy doesn't notice that they are about to collide. An easy enough maneuver, Brian steps around the man and proceeds to the elevator.
"Old people just walk where they want..."
Looking back Brian sees no one, he is alone in the growingly creepy hallway.
"Weird, he must have walked into one of the rooms I guess."
Upon reaching the elevator the door opens right as Brian was about to push the button. Entering, he is met with a middle aged woman standing in the corner. She is dressed in a normal white dress, it seems rather high quality. Brian notices that she is looking down, avoiding or possibly ignoring his presence.
"Hello!..."
She does not respond to Brian's greeting. She just continues to stand in the corner of the elevator, motionless, maintaining her downward stare....creepily.
Not enjoying the awkward silence that fills the small space the elevator begins to descend. Shortly after the downward movement begins the lights flicker...twice. After the second flicker, Brian glances to where the woman is standing only to see no one there.
"What the hell?! Where did she go? Did I imagine her? No way, there was someone there...maybe I am tired?"
Does Brian experience more surprises in the elevator?
