The more polished tunnel.

Honestly, the tunnel that is boarded up, it most likely done so for a reason, you don't see the need to check what is probably just an abandoned part of the mine.

With your decision made, you make your way down the beautifully made, potentially carved out tunnel. The quality never seems to stop amazing you, especially for a random cave that had no other signs of development. The rock is oozing love and dedication to craft of which has been applied to it. Sweeping your hand across the sides of the tunnel, you are able to feel the difference even in the moisture clinging to the rock, the walls surrounding you somehow free of dew and slime as opposed to the rock wall in other parts of the cave.

You continue walking, taking the time to appreciate the craft, until you come to an opening into a larger part of the cave, this seemingly more natural in composition compared to the part you just came from.

What you can observe further is a living space, illuminated by glowing mineral playing the part of veins in the rock wall, subtly sculpted to form shapes if you let your eyes focus upon them. To one side of the room, you see what looks to be an impressive workshop, with multiple pickaxes and hammers hung from the carved out hooks in the cave's wall. You can assume, someone is still living here, or has left recently.

Turning your attention to the other side of the cave proves your theory, as a candle still flickers within a closed off space of the cave, accessible only by way of crouching to the height of a much shorter man. The candle is low, but still steady with it's flame.

Finally, you also see a less sculpted tunnel run deeper into the earth. With all of this information you are able to piece together a decent theory of what kind of creature lives here.

Brought back from the speculation your mind entrenched you in, you hear the somber whistling of assumedly a man, along with the rattling of a wheeled cart pressed down by considerable weight.
