Miles goes to look for his Prom Date (Janice)

The party is in full swing around him but he has not seen his date in a while.

He moves through the living room scanning faces. Not there. He checks the backyard, the pool crowd has thinned, a few people still in the water but she is not one of them. He doubles back inside, past the beer pong table, past a group spilling out of the kitchen into the hallway.

He heads upstairs.

The upper floor is quieter, a few people scattered in the hallway, a couple making out against the wall near the linen closet. He moves past them checking rooms as he goes.

No sign of Janice.

He pulls out his phone and sends a quick text.

Miles: where are you?

He leans against the wall and waits.

No reply.

He pushes off the wall and keeps looking.
