you turn around quickly so as not to turn your back on her. you think she will probably pounce on you again, so as you turn around you swing your sword desperately to try to respond to her attack and perhaps cut her down.

You turned around and could see without trouble an image of the conjured monster girl with one of her claws raised high as if she was about to attack you. you could also verify that what you felt you had hit had been her, which was a bit obvious from seeing the handle of your sword buried in her face.
