more punishment

Charlotte was led to a corral outside a small barn. There were two cowboys in the corral, and too Charlotte's horror, there was a branding iron in a small forge of hot coals.

She was led into the corral. The girl on the horse hopped off and shoved Charlotte to her knees.

One of the cowboys took the brand out of the coals. "Charlotte could see it had Traitor in reverse letters. She now knew who was behind this.

She shook her head.

"Is this the proper punishment for a traitor?" asked one of the cowboys in a proper British accent.

Charlotte shook her head more vigorously.

"Don't worry, we're not that cruel," said the other Cowboy, also in a British accent.

"Oh, well," said the first cowboy. He put the branding iron back in the coals. "I'll keep it hot just in case." He went into the barn.

A few minutes later, the upper doors on the barn opened. The cowboy lowered a rope from a pulley. The other cowboy and the woman took the rope and tied it around Charlotte's ankles. The cowboy in the barn loft then hoisted Charlotte up until she was upside down with her dangling about 6 feet off the ground.

The girl and the cowboy on the ground went into the bar and wheeled out a large wheelbarrow full of manure. They placed it under Charlotte, she was lowered until the top of her head was resting firmly on the manure and flies were buzzing all around her.
