it's the end of an era

hooking her fingers though the cage links Becky pulled her self to her feet.

Becky ran and jumped giving Tegan a taste of her own finisher as her knee slammed into Tegan's nose.

Tegan cried out in pain and felt of her nose. Becky wondered if she had broken it.

but if she had Tegan didn't acknowledge it.

Tegan punched Becky hard in the face snapping her head around.

Becky staggered but she stayed on her feet.

Becky went for a fisherman's suplex but Tegan managed to kick out.

Tegan tried for a cross face but Becky wouldn't tap out. instead Becky powered free and speared Tegan into the cage.

the angle and momentum compressed her stomach and Tegan vomited spraying it all over Becky's back and hair.

"oh gross!" Becky muttered as Tegan coughed and wiped thick creamy puke off her mouth.

Tegan grabbed Becky and tried to **** her down into a **** hold but Becky managed to stand up and toss Tegan off.

Tegan began climbing the cage.

Becky had flashbacks to her last cage match with Kaylee and charlotte,

given how that had gone she wasn't sure Tegan knew what she was asking for.

but then charlotte had ended up across the hall from her her last hospital stay and they had all visited each other quite often.

Becky followed her up.

"Tegan I don't think ya quite know the pain yer invitin' up here."

"oh I know Becky. I made a promise to Dakota. I have to WIN."

Becky set her jaw.

"and I promised Kaylee I wouldn't lose. "

Becky told her.

they ran toward each other.

as they grappled Becky remembered how they had partied when they had won their titles from toxic attraction.

how much fun they had had together.

she stared into Tegan's determined eyes.

Tegan remembered how Becky had been ready to **** her just to keep from losing her title.

for Tegan that had been when the trust had broken.

even when they had made up and Becky had apologized there was something deep down that had never healed.

Becky bent Tegan's wrist back and she cried out in pain.

Becky thought back to when they had eaten dinner together and Tegan had helped her cook.

that had been so much fun.

Tegan remembered how when Becky had been kidnapped she and Kaylee had nearly throttled Gigi and Jacy before

they consented to show them where they had lost Becky.

Tegan realized that she had been foolish.

Becky grabbed Tegan in a hug, pinning her arms.

"I'm so sorry Tegan." Becky whispered.

holding Tegan tight, Becky leapt off of the cage.

Becky rode Tegan Nox straight to hell.

they slammed into the announce table smashing through it with thunderous cash.

all Tegan knew was pain. she barely felt Becky hook her leg.

"one two THREE!"

the bell rang.

"here is your winner and NEW smackdown women's champion BECKY LYNCH!"

Becky raised her title high, but she reached down and offered her hand to Tegan.

when the reality hit her, Tegan began sobbing loudly.

Becky wrapped her in a tight hug, cradling Tegan's head as she patted her shoulder.

"you WERE ALWAYS a champ ta me, Tegan!" Becky told her firmly.

"don't ya ever let anyone tell ya otherwise!"

Becky held the belt between them.

"this championship is EVERY bit as much yours as it is mine!" Becky told her.

"this title PROVES ta me, ta everyone watchin' at home, that TEGAN NOX is a CHAMPION!"

Becky kissed her on the head as her own tears fell.

"I'll miss ya Tegan!"

Tegan couldn't speak, tears tolled down her cheeks and her lips quivered as hard sobs wracked her body.

Tegan had put it all on the line.

and she had lost.

Tegan had to leave wwe forever now.

Dakota kai made her way down to ringside and after a word to Becky she took Tegan in her arms.

"I'm sorry!" Tegan sobbed when she saw her.

Dakota kissed her hard, not caring that Tegan had snot coming out of her nose from crying.

"I love you Tegan!" Dakota told her between kisses.

"I love you too!" Tegan sobbed, holding her tight.

Becky picked up a mic.

"lets hear it for Tegan!"

the crowd began chanting "thank you Tegan! thank you Tegan!"

though she began crying harder Tegan managed a smile through her tears.

Dakota handed Tegan her leather jacket and she put it back on.

Becky handed her the mic.

Tegan's face crumpled with tears but she managed to control her voice enough to say

"thank you Boston! I love you!"

and the crowd replied

"we love you Tegan!"

Dakota kai put her arm cross Tegan's shoulders and they walked up the ramp together one last time.
